IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS

All I could do was stand there and watch her. She went out after a fresh snowfall and I watched her tromp around. What is it about watching your children experience something new or relatively unfamiliar? She ran...impressed by her tracks. She belly flopped....just to see what it would feel like. When I couldn't see her, I could hear her singing.

OSCAR DEAN {10 MONTHS}

  • 18-24 month clothes
  • size five diapers
  • 7 teeth (four on top & three on the bottom)
Lots of changes this past month for this little guy.
See the food on his tray? Yeah. That's new. :) He prefers it over baby cereal now. Can you blame him?
He's now a Minnesotan and likes to be outside. (when it's not too cold)
He got the stomach flu for the first time and he's had a cold for weeks.
Gravity anyone? He likes the "drop everything on the floor" game. He said "uh oh" once but I can't get him to say it again.
He also likes to feed the dog from his high chair....one for me, one for you. :)
He likes to pound on things and things that make noise (especially the piano)
Chase him up the stairs and he'll giggle all the way.
Cruising around the furniture.....
Wakes up at least once a night (usually twice)

FIRST {REAL} WORD

Oscar is 9 1/2 months old. When I was putting him to bed the other day I said, "It's time to go night night" and he said, "nah nah." At first I thought it was just a sound...a coincidence. He's said it several times since then... after I say it...when it's time to go "night night." I think it's safe to call it his first real word. (Other than the "mama" that comes out when he's sad, scared or tired.)

In other news...
He loves to be outside.
He still claps.
He waves. (once in awhile)
He eats a ton.
He makes sounds like mamamama and dadadadada.
He's getting another tooth on the bottom.
He's a master stair climber.
He's cruising along the furniture.

It's hard to believe that he'll be 1 in just 2 1/2 short months.

FIRST DAY

Donald just left for his first day of work at his new job.
It feels good. A fresh start...a new chapter...new experiences...more to learn...friends to make...
It's surprising how much there is to get ready when it's cold outside. :) Besides the normal breakfast, backpack, lunch, water and jacket....there's the hat, gloves, extra jacket and hot coffee. And don't forget to start your car 15 minutes before you leave or you'll be sorry. :)

The morning has been amazingly perfect for a Monday...I woke up to a warm fire, fresh banana bread, hot coffee and a handsome hubby ready to walk out the door. :) Oh, and the kids are still sleeping. Awesome.
There's nothing better than sitting here, listening to the hum of the baby monitor fire and watching the sun make it's appearance over the river.
