SO MUCH TO DO!

Where to begin....
Breaking news!!! Ava finally figured out how to spit her toothpaste in the sink!!!
I took Ava to the Dr. on Wednesday because I was starting to lay awake at night, worrying that she might have something seriously wrong with her...all the possibilites for why her legs and feet hurt flying through my head. Leukemia...JRA...Lymes Disease...dehydration...growing pains...some kind of deficiency...anemia...manipulation :)...I couldn't take it anymore.  They poked her finger and took some blood. Her platelets were in the normal range and she's not anemic. The Dr. said that when kids are growing and really active, combined with joints that overextend a little bit (I guess she thinks Ava is flexible), that kids tend to have more pain. Needless to say, it gave me peace of mind but if it continues for another few months, I'll probably take her in again.
As of Wednesday, I was 32 weeks....only 8 weeks to go! Time is flying! At my last appt. (March 23rd) I had gained 20 lbs since the beginning.
We got the news yesterday that the buyers of our house are purchasing the house "as is" and that our inspection passed! They also requested that we close on April 13th instead of the 24th because their rate lock expires then. So, that gives us 2 weeks from today to pack up and move to Texas!! I spent all day on the computer and phone...buying plane tickets...canceling services...changing addresses...
Donald finally comes home tomorrow! Yay! Ava has been so good this week...
you should see the rest of the house!

MOVING FORWARD

Daddy is in Texas for the week for the ICoTA (Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association) Conference. We miss him.
Ava and I spent a few hours at the zoo with Danika and Tabor! So fun...and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day!
Add a couple hours of shopping to that and we didn't get home until after 4 pm! Long day!
Sometime between the zoo and shopping, I got a message that our appraisal went through!!! Yay! We're moving forward! The inspection is scheduled for tomorrow (March 27th) at 9 am!
Ava and I got home, rested for a bit and then started cleaning! I had cleaned almost the whole house and had just come in from mowing the lawn (at 32 weeks pregnant) in the rain...I was taking a break, leaning on the kitchen counter, when Ava runs in and says,
"Mom! I have a great idea!!!"
"What's your great idea Ava?"
"Umm...This kitchen is a mess!"
"What? I just cleaned it! What's your great idea?"
"I said, 'This kitchen is a mess!!' "
Oh brother...she is definitely her father's daughter!

Hopefully we'll know soon whether or not this house deal will go through! I'm itchin' to pack!

APPLES

"Ava, are you eating your apples?"
"Yep!"
"Good. Apples are good for you."
"Yeah, they help me see the oats!"
"Oats? What oats?"
"Horse oats!"

Ummm....what?

ANOTHER MOLAR

Another 2 year molar has poked it's way through...bottom left. Two down, two to go!

JUST A PHASE

Ava has been going through a phase lately where she doesn't want to feed herself. She just sits there and doesn't eat while we nag her and nag her to "just eat!" Then she'll scoot the plate/bowl (full of food) over and say, "Can you help me get the yast bites?" :) "What?! You haven't even taken a bite yet!!" Or she'll take a couple of bites and then say, "Can you help me get the yast bites?"

FUNNY

Ava was watching a video on my phone...she looked up and said, "My brains are sucking out, Mom!" How true, how true.

Eat something and then breathe on Ava. She wrinkles up her face, plugs her nose and says, "You smell yike breath!"

ALERO

It's gone. The car that brought me to Oregon. The car the brought me over the mountains to visit my boyfriend. :) The car that brought our first precious daughter home from the hospital. The car that's taken me everywhere I need to go. Sold. On to bigger and better!!

HUNTER JAMES

Danielle had her baby today! His name is Hunter James.... 9 lbs 7 oz... 20 1/2 inches long! Welcome to the family little guy! We can't wait to meet you!

10 WEEKS TO GO!

If this little one doesn't take after her big sister and just settle in and make herself comfortable for an extra 10 days, we'll get to meet her in 10 weeks! 10 weeks seems a lot shorter than three months so we'll just call it that. :) Can't wait to meet this new little one!

GARAGE TALK WITH DADDY

Ava: "Daddy, what is that?"
Daddy: "That's paint."
Ava: "Oh, I take all my clothes off when I paint."
Daddy: "Why do you do that?"
Ava: "Umm, cuz it makes me sad and nervous to paint."

QUIET MOMENTS

I dislike getting up in the middle of the night....Ava likes to get up at about 4 am, complain about her legs and tell me that she's hungry. As much as I don't like dragging myself out of my warm bed, I love it when she's still....sitting with me in the rocking chair...in the dark...eating toast with butter and saying nothing at all. I cherish those moments...especially when she turns to kiss me on the cheek.

CHANGES

Ava had a growth spurt...all of a sudden, she is able to reach most of the light switches in the house. How did this happen!?!
She's officially in 3T clothes now with only a few exceptions. :)
She wakes up way too early...7 am...whatever happened to 9 am? Ah, the good old days. :)
She can (kind of) count to 10 in Spanish - on a good day. :)
She knows cat (gato) and dog (perro) in Spanish...we're teaching her horse (caballo).
She can spell "monkey". "M-O-N-K-E-Y. Monkey"
She still asks us all the time, "Are you happy at me?"
She asks what EVERYTHING "smells yike."
She chews her fingernails.
When she has to go #2 she says, "I'm full."
She loves having "yunch picnics" with her kitchen food.
She loves princesses and "spwinkawee" (sparkly) things.

This is our family right now. :)
28.5 weeks...3 months to go!
My two favorite people. :)
We got an offer on our house this week...we countered and now we wait. Big changes up ahead.

AUNTIE ANDREA'S VISIT

Auntie Andrea and Emawee (Emily) spent last week with us. We had such a good time! Lot's of shopping and way too much eating. :) I think the highlight of the week was spending two days on the coast. Andrea got us a smokin' deal on a hotel room in Lincoln City. Ava went swimming for the second time in her life and loved it. I think we need to take her more often. She swallowed water a couple of times but was all ready to jump in again after a minute or two! I was a little nervous about how Ava would do sleeping with all of us in the room but she did amazing!! I was so proud of her. A year ago, she would have screamed and cried and thrown fits until she fell asleep! It was just another reminder of how fast she's growing up. This is the conversation we had right before she laid down and fell asleep.
"Goodnight Mommy. Mommy?"
"What Ava?"
"This bed is too stinky I think."
"Goodnight, Ava."
"Goodnight, Mommy."
"Mommy?"
"Yes, Ava?"
"This bed is too soft to yay on I think."
"Goodnight, Ava."
"Goodnight, Mommy. Sleep tight."
"Sleep tight, Ava."
We spent part of Day 2 on Cape Kiwanda. It was a beautiful, sunny day and had a blast climbing the sand dune. 29 weeks pregnant and I made it to the top! Tap bounded up the dune....Ava played in the sand and did pretty good walking for most of the way...Andrea and Emily carried her (thank goodness)...I would have never made it without their help! Donald spent most of the time working in coffee shops. :)
We made a couple of trips to the walk-in clinic for Andrea's nasty, swollen tonsils.
We spent a couple of hours in McMinnville for lunch and strolling downtown....The girls had their first taste of kombucha! It was hilarious. I poured them each a cup and they picked out all of the chunks! True midwesterners!
We celebrated Andrea's 22nd birthday a bit early...sushi for supper and green birthday cake for dessert. :)

A REALLY BIG DEAL

Warning: This post is about poop.

On Saturday, Ava went poop in the toilet for the first time ever. The cool part about it was that I wasn't even home!!! Donald took care of it all by himself and got her to go in the toilet!! I was shocked that she went....I didn't think it would ever happen.
We spent the day at the mall today with Auntie Andrea and Emily...All day, Ava was complaining that she was full and that she had to go "poopy." I don't even know how many times I took her with no success. We got home at about 8 pm and she said that she had to go to the bathroom. I took her in and set her on the toilet, told her I was making her oatmeal and walked out. A couple of minutes later, she started calling for me and when I walked in, she was going!! I am so proud of her!! We're making progress!! Yay! So happy :)

PAINTING

I talked to Danielle on the phone the other day and she inspired me to do something crafty with Ava...I've been a little bit hesitant to try anything too messy for fear of how my better half might react. :) Surprisingly, he was pretty much ok with it...a little nervous..but ok. :) Ava loved it!

I think we'll do more today. Maybe we'll break out the glue, noodles and glitter!

Side note: I think she needs to eat more...check out that ribcage!
